🌿 Herb of the Month: Chamomile
A gentle reminder to slow down, breathe, and rest.
There is something deeply peaceful about chamomile. Its soft floral scent, delicate blossoms, and calming nature feel like a quiet invitation to slow down in a world that constantly pushes us to hurry.
This month, we are focusing on Chamomile … a gentle herb that has supported women, families, and children for generations. It is one of the easiest and safest herbs to begin with, and a beautiful starting place for anyone wanting to bring more natural wellness into their home.
What Is Chamomile?
Chamomile is a small flowering plant in the daisy family. The flowers are dried and used in teas, infused oils, and natural remedies. There are two main types … German and Roman chamomile … both known for their calming and soothing properties.
Chamomile is often called the “herb of rest” because of its long history of supporting the nervous system, sleep, and emotional balance.
A Little Chamomile History
Chamomile has been used for thousands of years across many cultures. Ancient Egyptians valued it for wellness and spiritual care. Greeks and Romans used it to support digestion and relaxation. It was often included in herbal baths and bedtime rituals to promote peace and restoration.
Even today, chamomile remains one of the most trusted herbs for calming the body and mind.

A Verse to Reflect On
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
This is the heart of chamomile … rest, peace, and gentle restoration. It reminds us that true healing and calm begin with surrender and trust.
Lord, thank You for the gift of rest. In a world that feels busy and overwhelming, help us to slow down and receive the peace You offer. Teach us to care for our bodies and minds with wisdom and gentleness. Let this season be one of restoration, calm, and trust in Your provision. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
